That is pure..natural bacon grease.. and in my house its turkey bacon grease..because we don't do swine around here...
Bacon grease add flavor to any dish in which oil is called for..(I don't think I said that right, but you know what I'm saying)
I only like to reuse mine once. After it turns black its no longer flavorful..its just burnt. The picture above shows how it should look.
Bacon Grease has many uses thus your recycling at the same time!
The following are a few ways that you can use this wonderful natural oil:
- Add it to your pot of greens or cabbage
- Add a tsp to dried beans when boiling them
- Making gravy- homeade gravy in a skillet is best
- Great for making creamed corn
- Oven Fries...OMG...spread some bacon grease onto the bottom of an oven skillet, cut the potatoes into long wedges with the skin on, place the top on the skillet and place in the oven for about 45 minutes..take out of the oven and sprinkle some fresh parmesean on them...OMG...you will never deep fry a potato again!

Skillet Grave is the Best!
Always store your grease in glass or stainless steel and if you don't cook often, place it in the refrigerator as it can get rancid if left out to long.
Toodles... Happy Cooking
